Who We Are

Support starts with the person.

Every Step Pathways is built around a simple belief: support should start with the person—their strengths, choices, goals, interests, and what matters to them.

Strengths Goals Connection Independence Purpose
Mission, Vision & Philosophy

Support should help people move forward.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support adults with IDD and TBI in everyday life and community. We help people build skills, make choices, become more independent, connect with others, and work toward goals that matter to them.

Our Vision

Our vision is a future where adults with IDD and TBI are known for their strengths, have real choices, build meaningful relationships, and have opportunities to work, contribute, lead, and belong.

Our Philosophy

Beyond Passive Services

We believe support should help people move forward instead of simply filling their day.

That means creating real opportunities to learn, connect, try new things, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward personal goals.

Our role is to listen, encourage, create opportunities, and help remove barriers while each person makes choices about their own life.

How we support

How we support people.

Our support is built around the person, their choices, their strengths, and the progress they want to make.

01

Person-Centered

Support starts with the individual—not the program.

02

Community-Based

We build skills in real places and everyday routines whenever appropriate.

03

Strengths-Focused

We build from what a person can do, enjoys, and wants to learn.

04

Progress-Oriented

We look at real progress toward the person’s goals and adjust support when needed.

05

Choice-Driven

The person’s voice, preferences, rights, and choices stay central to the support process.

06

Purposeful

Activities should connect to a useful skill, goal, relationship, experience, or next step whenever possible.

Medicaid Network Milestone

Our First Medicaid Network Contract Opportunity Is Here

Every Step Pathways has received its first Medicaid provider network acceptance and contract offer. We are now completing the systems, compliance, staffing, and workflows needed before services can begin.

What this means

  • A major step toward becoming an active provider
  • Greater momentum toward serving our first participants
  • A clear path from planning to launch readiness

Where we stand now

Network acceptance opened the door. We are now finishing the documentation, workflows, staffing, and operating steps needed before services begin.

What comes next

  • Finalize readiness systems and documentation
  • Complete launch preparation and referral workflow setup
  • Move toward serving the first participant or family
What contract readiness means

Making sure the right systems are in place before services begin.

We are putting the right tools, policies, workflows, and support systems in place so services can begin responsibly and serve people well from day one.

Leadership
Torey D. Evans, Founder of Every Step Pathways

Built to see the person beyond the service.

Every Step Pathways was founded on the belief that people should be known for who they are, what matters to them, and what they can achieve—not defined by a diagnosis or limitation.

We work alongside individuals as they build skills, exercise choice, connect with others, and take their next steps with greater confidence.

Service FAQ

Common questions before services begin.

Do I need Medicaid to receive 1915(i) services?

Our initial 1915(i) services are Medicaid-funded. If you are unsure whether 1915(i) applies to you, you can still contact Every Step Pathways to learn about our services and the appropriate eligibility or authorization process. ESP does not determine Medicaid eligibility.

What is 1915(i)?

1915(i) is a Medicaid State Plan home- and community-based services benefit. Eligibility, assessment, authorization, and the services available to an individual are determined through the applicable Medicaid and care-management process.

Do I need authorization before services can begin?

When authorization is required, it must be in place before the applicable Medicaid-funded service begins. Service start also depends on service appropriateness, staffing, organizational capacity, and required onboarding steps.

Can I choose Every Step Pathways as my provider?

Provider choice depends on the applicable Medicaid plan or network, authorization, service availability, and other requirements. We can discuss whether Every Step Pathways is an available option for your situation.

What areas are you serving at launch?

Our current launch focus is Rowan and Cabarrus Counties, North Carolina. If you are outside the launch area, you may still contact us to ask about future availability or next steps.

What if I’m not sure which service I need?

That is okay. Choose “Not sure yet” in the inquiry form and tell us what you are hoping to accomplish. We can explain our services and help identify the appropriate conversation to have next.
